Job Opening: Superintendent

Commercial General Contractor seeks a Superintendent that posses a willingness to succeed and desire to work. Construction experience is a must. Must be willing to travel when necessary for Federal and Non-Federal projects. Looking for someone who is not afraid of handling the progress and daily activities on large busy projects.

Qualifications

  • 5 Yrs Construction Management Experience (Required)
  • Drivers License (Required)
  • Able to Pass Military Base Installation Access (Required)
  • OSHA 30 (Preferred but training provided for the qualified selected candidate)
  • CQC Certification (Preferred but training provided for the qualified selected candidate))
  • CPR Certification (Preferred but training provided for the qualified selected candidate))

Job Description

  • Assist in preparation and maintenance of Project Schedule. Coordinate with the Project Manager for all scheduling of materials, equipment, manpower, and subcontractors to ensure project schedule and quality is met.
  • Create project schedules for site use.
  • Monitor the pace and quality of work.
  • Prepare status reports and keep accurate records of daily activities.
  • Maintain a safe jobsite: Read and understand the jobsite safety manual. Maintain documentation of Subcontractors training on site and compliance with their site-specific safety manuals.
  • Hold jobsite safety meetings.
  • Enforce Subcontractor scope, holding them accountable for work within their scope.
  • Inspect work for conformance to manufacture’s installation requirements and conformance to project documents.
  • Documentation of required daily and weekly checklists and reports.
  • Follow up on meeting minute issues that require attention.
  • Advise Project Manager of Subcontractor issues.
  • Strong knowledge and enforcement of the EM385-1-1 and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with site superintendents, foreman, customers, contractors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Ability to work well and solve problems with diverse personalities and deal with issues in a tactful and mature manner.
  • Verify the accuracy of dimensions, level, alignment, and elevation for layout and installation.
  • Coordinate and manage construction projects and all activities to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.
  • Able to travel to various project sites within Eastern NC.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary.
  • Write and submit RFI’s.
  • Review and approve product submittals and shop drawings.
  • Record quantities of materials received and used during a specified period.
  • Compute monthly estimate of work completed and approve payment to suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Schedule, manage and supervise completion of punch list.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A Self Starter. Attention to detail and quality. Organized with a systematic approach to tasks to achieve accuracy and efficiency. Friendly and outgoing and works easily with others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
